cayutue lodge
the lodge
A secret paradise tucked within Chile's first established National Park, named after the Chilean Mountaineer Vicente Pérez Rosales, who over a hundred years ago documented this regions exquisite beauty.

The lodge sits on the shore of the lake Todos Los Santos (All Saints Lake), and is accessible only by private boat. The 30 minute crossing is a beautiful prelude to what lies ahead, as passengers are typically left spellbound by the views of ancient forest, volcanoes, waterfalls, and emerald water - just as the first Jesuit missionaries were who gave this lake its name.

Upon reaching the interior of a narrow and secluded cove, the lodge comes into view, and adjacent to it the last rapid from the Cayutue River pours into the lake, creating a marvelous pool.

Within this pool, known as la boca, feisty resident browns (farios) and rainbows (arcoiris) can be challenged the moment guests arrive, as well the occasional landlocked salmon, which venture into the cove.

Guests are welcomed into the lodge with a warm fire, a charming living room with an inviting area to tie flies, and upstairs, spacious bedrooms with private baths. Accommodations are more than comfortable, and the atmosphere is that of a German fairytale.

The cook is sure to attend to the most discriminating palate, and our resident guides are sure to please with an unforgettable fishing experience. Non-angling companions are welcome.

Horseback riding or hiking through the National Park will leave visitors awestruck by the ancient larch forest - Chile's national tree equal in grandeur to California's redwoods. The Cayutue has easily the best beach and one of the most scenic shores of the lake - it is an ideal place for couples.
