Fishing in Patagonia & Corrientes North
Patagonia is the one of the best fly-fishing places. Out of all the techniques available, the most popular in this area is dry fly-fishing. The best region for fishing goes from Junín de los Andes up to Bariloche, especially the city of San Martín de los Andes, and is characterised by a wide diversity of lakes, rivers and brooks; this area is known as THE BASIN OF THE LIMAY RIVER.

The Andes Mountain Range is propitious for fly-fishing, and the most popular places are the rivers Limay, Aluminé, Chimehuín Collón Curá, and Meliquina, in the basin of the Limay River, North Patagonia. There is another fishing area known as COMARCA DE LOS ALERCES ('Los Alerces district'), in the Los Alerces National Park.

This region is very famous because a large quantity of lakes of glacial origin and hundreds of rivers and brooks - with a large variety of high-quality trout and salmon brought to this habitat 100 years ago- meet there. The best-known salmonindae here are brown trout, brook trout (fontinalis), rainbow trout and Atlantic salmon.

In southern Patagonia, the fishing is better in the rivers Gallegos and Grande in the province of Tierra del Fuego. This area has been hailed as 'Brown Trout Angler's Paradise', and is the one of the most famous fishing places worldwide.

Corrientes is famous for the Dorado, the local fish. This fish can also be found in the Río de la Plata and its many branches, and in the litoral. Paso de la Patria (Corrientes), Isla del Cerrito (Chaco) and Posadas (Misiones) are the best places to fish dorado.
